Playlists year by year for Spotify listeners

Based on data presented on Statjam.uk's At A Glance: UK Chart Hits. Playlists are ordered by the week chronologically and then by the position the release entered at (in ascending order e.g. from #1 to/up to #100) within the chart that week.

Chart entries are defined as each entry as listed in the 'official' charts published at the time. For example, a double A-side single is one entry, an EP release is one entry and a re-entry that peaked at 75 or higher one or more years after its original chart appearance is one entry.

The maximum total for each playlist is the quantity of individual chart entries plus any 'AA sides' and one additional track from each single listed as an EP release. Re-entries within the same year of the release's original chart entry are excluded, as are re-entries that did not peak at 75 or higher on the chart.

The current playlist totals indicate whether the correct number of entries has been applied to the playlist, including all 'silent track' placeholders, in anticipation of a complete playlist with all tracks accounted for.

The 'missing or omitted' entries total is the current amount of 'Silent track' placeholder entries in the playlist, whether this is because the entries are not available on Spotify to include in the playlist, ARE available on Spotify but have not yet been added to the playlist, or have been omitted due to being a recurring Christmas-related re-entry.

Missing only the 'Man / Woman' double A-side by Rosemary Clooney & Jose Ferrer. Note that as a result of there being only one double A-side between 1952 and 1954 and there being only one re-entry, by Winifred Atwell in 1954, the maximum playlist total (given the inclusion of the aforementioned AA-side) is the same as the total number of chart entries.

Re-entries in January may be excluded from the playlists if they had only ended their prior chart run in December of the previous year. Exceptions are made if the track entered the Top 75 for the first time after re-entry or re-entered the Top 75 later that same year. Additionally, most if not all Christmas-themed re-entries in December of the years 2010-2019 are also replaced in the playlist with an eleven seconds-long silent track unless they reached a new peak position.
